Well if those dreams of being a sports announcer and promotions manager for your favorite baseball team have faded like your youth, then it’s time to get them back with Jack Cain, President, and the marketing/promotions team,including Announcer Rich Burk, for the Portland Beavers for a couple of days of game operations management!

Beautifullyquaint PGE Park is home to the Portland Beavers baseball team andPortland Timbers Soccer team, as well as many other fun and excitingevents. In past years, the park has hosted World Cup soccer and majormusical acts. PGE Park’s schedule is loaded with all kinds of greatevents over the coming season, and you won’t want to miss your chance!

Duringyour VocationVacations® adventure, you will get the unique opportunityto see what it’s like to manage all the fun a ballpark has to offer.John and his team will have you working in all areas of marketing…working with the infield host, to managing the old-time manualscoreboard to making key announcements over the PA system to callingthe big plays over the AM-radio airwaves!

While on your Sports Announcer dream job holiday, Rich and his staff will mentor you in some or all of the following activities:

  • Participate in special events and in-game promotions
  • Manage manual scoreboard
  • Color commentary over local AM radio station
  • Make announcements over the stadium PA system
  • Lead the “Seventh Inning” stretch
  • Pull tarp on field, if necessary
  • Attend game operations meeting(s)

The Sports Announcer & Promotions Manager VocationVacations® holiday includes:

  • Two days of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job as a Sports Promotions Manager and Announcer
  • The ability to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), an online personality assessment designed to identify interests and skill sets
  • The opportunity to participate in a total of one hour of pre- and post-VocationVacation career coaching from an accredited, affiliated VocationVacations career coach
  • A pocket-size VocationVacations journal so you can document your dream job becoming a reality
  • Light lunches with your mentor

A $100 non-refundable fee is assessed if a VocationVacations experience is cancelled or rescheduled prior to 14-days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday, based on the approved availability of the mentor to reschedule. A VocationVacation cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday. Written notification of cancellation or rescheduling is required in all cases. Grounded Nomads, LLC dba VocationVacations encourages all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling.
