Being the beer lover that he is, David always dreamed of producing world-class ales on a small scale. With the help of Peter MaxwellStuart, a Scottish nobleman and brewer who arranged introductions and itineraries, David worked in a half-dozen small commercial breweriesfrom the highlands of Scotland to the south coast of England.

UponDavid’s return to the US, he founded his namesake brewery in 1986. Hisfirst recipe, Geary’s Pale Ale, was created using classic elements fromBritish-style beer-making. Since then, D.L. Geary Brewing has gone onto become a regional favorite in the Northeast U.S. and its fiveaward-winning ales and three seasonals are now distributed in fourteenstates. The Geary Brewing Company is recognized as a pioneer inAmerica’s brewing renaissance and as a model of quality and excellencefor the industry.

While Vocationing at D.L. Geary Brewing, David and his crew will mentor you in the following activities:
  • Loading barley and hops -- grab the shovel!
  • Mixing the hops into the wort
  • Pitching yeast into the fermenter
  • Conducting lab work (look at those lil' critters under the microscope!)
  • Mashing!
  • Sparging!
  • Bottling!
  • TASTING the rewards of your hard day's labor
The Brew Master VocationVacations® holiday includes:
  • One day of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job as a Brew Master

  • A VocationVacations® journal so you can document your dream job coming to reality
  • One hour of pre- and post- VocationVacation life strategy coaching from a VocationVacations dream job holiday-approved guide

Reservation, Cancellation and Rescheduling Rules and Conditions:
A $100 non-refundable fee is assessed if a VocationVacations experience is cancelled or rescheduled prior to 14-days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday, based on the approved availability of the mentor to reschedule. A VocationVacation cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday. Written notification of cancellation or rescheduling is required in all cases. Grounded Nomads, LLC dba VocationVacations encourages all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling.
