If this is your calling, then let Dean Mahan, owner of Yoga Vida in Austin Texas, be your Mentor for a Yoga Studio Owner VocationVacation. 

Yoga Vida was the first yoga studio in Austin to offer "hot" yoga. Dean was one of the first students of the studio - never imagining (after surviving the heat) that he would one day come to own the studio. “That is the joy of how life unfolds if you just surrender,” remarks Dean. 

Dean has a Masters degree in Education and taught children for five years. Then he spent years in the travel industry, owning his own successful travel agency for 20-plus years.

After practicing yoga for a year, Dean paused and re-evaluated his life. He “stepped into his gift” – bringing a calm serenity to a very physical yoga.  He gently pushes his students to reach a higher level in their practice and in their life. “Stillness creates love, movement creates life, to be still and still moving – this is everything,” is a favorite quote of Dean’s. He continues to be inspired by Baron Baptiste Vinyasa Power Yoga and continues his love of practice and teaching.

Dean Mahan is excited to mentor you in some or all of the following activities during your VocationVacations adventure:

  • Learn the day-to-day business operations including facilities management, daily accounting activities, marketing and student enrollment
  • Learn how to create a studio environment that creates a calm and welcoming space to fully engage the yoga practice
  • Greet yoga students and assist in the sign-in procedures
  • Assist in retail management – learn how to select, order and display yoga merchandise
  • Participate in the Power Flow yoga practice and assist teaching, if applicable

The Yoga Studio Owner VocationVacations® experience includes:

  • Two days of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job as a Yoga Studio Owner
  • The opportunity to participate in a total of one hour of pre- and post-VocationVacation career coaching from an accredited, affiliated VocationVacations career coach
  • A pocket-size VocationVacations journal so you can document your dream job becoming a reality
  • Light lunches with your mentor

In the US, Grounded Nomads, LLC and VocationVacations holidays encourage all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling.
