Do you sit in your office and wonder what Rover is doing at home? If you dream of your life going to the dogs, then this VocationVacations® holiday is for you! Dog Daycare owner Heather Stass would love to share her passion as Top Dog at K9 Capers Doggy Daycare.
Heather has extensive experience working with animals. She has a Bachelor’s degree in animal behavior and multiple years of kennel management experience. As a Dog Daycare owner she belongs to the North American Dog Daycare Association and the American Kennel Association’s Dog Daycare Division. She has owned K9 Capers for four years.
K9 Capers has a brand new facility dedicated to quality play times for our four-legged pals. Heather believes that dogs need to have time to socialize - it is a natural part of their “pack” instinct. In many cases the time spent at daycare helps to relieve separation anxiety, gives dogs plenty of exercise and helps to improve overall behavior. The staff at K9 Capers also helps clients reinforce basic obedience commands and manners. You will have an amazing opportunity to learn all aspects of running the doggy daycare of your dreams.
While Vocationing at K9 Capers, Heather will mentor you in the following activities:
- Assist in bringing new dogs into the group
- Participate in a dog’s evaluation for temperament/group matching
- Work with a large group of dogs
- Assist in exiting dogs from group
- Sanitation and safety in a dog daycare
- Monitor play for appropriate behaviors
- Practice pack management techniques
- Review staff training materials
- Learn how to schedule breeds/sizes of dogs and daily structure
- Gain an understanding of start-up, customer relations and marketing
The Dog Daycare VocationVacation includes:
- One day of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job as a Dog Daycare Director
- The opportunity to participate in a total of one hour of pre- and post-VocationVacation career coaching from an accredited, affiliated VocationVacations career coach
- A pocket-size VocationVacations journal so you can document your dream job becoming a reality
- Light lunches with your mentor
Available: All year, Monday - Friday, based on mentor's availability with exception of holidays

Full payment of the VocationVacations dream job holiday is required to make a reservation. A $100 non-refundable fee is assessed if a VocationVacations experience is cancelled or rescheduled prior to 14-days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday, based on the approved availability of the mentor to reschedule. A VocationVacations adventure cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday. Written notification of cancellation or rescheduling is required in all cases. In the US, Grounded Nomads, LLC and VocationVacations holidays encourage all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling. In the UK, Grounded Nomads, Ltd and VocationVacations holidays must require all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling and provide verification of such travel insurance to Grounded Nomads, Ltd. |
