An early love for photography became a lifelong endeavor for Michael. When he held a camera in college, he knew “that was it.” Earning a degree in social work, he then spent 12 years in Chicago running his own studio, traveling the world and developing his skills. In 1997, he found his dream home (and the lifestyle that has come with it) on a historic 1900’s-era Wisconsin farm. He relocated from the busy city to the bucolic country. Today his studio is a charming renovated barn – but don’t let that fool you – it’s also a multi-level space with state-of-the-art photography production, digital technology equipment and a computer workroom!

Clients from all over the world call on Michael’s talents. In front of his lens is a panorama of well-known companies, celebrities, CEO’s, newlyweds, factories, aerial heights, beautiful settings and even man’s best friend! His high quality, original work has appeared locally, nationally and internationally. Much of his business referrals are from clients who rave about Michael’s skills, upbeat personality and enthusiastic nature. While on your Photographer VocationVacations dream job holiday, Michael will mentor you in some or all of the following activities:

• Introduction to Nikon digital camera and digital photography
• Evaluation of a photo shoot with hands-on set up, shooting and lighting (at studio/location)
• How to shoot safe, then “blow the envelope”
• Discussion and use of lighting: finding the “right” light, adapting to different situations and using the tools at hand
• Digital photography work flow and debunking the myth that digital is “less work”
• Cropping and image evaluation – defining image objectives
• Photoshop for the photographer – a tutorial to take the image to the next step
• Business overview and approach: how to define your market, target clients and network
• Creating the right portfolio for your audience
• Critique of Vocationer’s work

The Photographer VocationVacations holiday includes:

• Two days of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job as a Photographer
