Are you ready to trade-in the office coffee clutch for a half-barrel? Do your family and friends think your home-brew ale is ready for the big time? Sounds like you’re ready to test-drive your dream job as a Brew Master with of the brew masters at D.L. Geary Brewing Company.

Being the beer lover that he is, David Geary always dreamed of producing world-class ales on a small scale. With the help of Peter Maxwell Stuart, a Scottish nobleman and brewer who arranged introductions and itineraries, David worked in a half-dozen small commercial breweries from the highlands of Scotland to the south coast of England.

Upon David’s return to the US, he founded his namesake brewery in 1986. His first recipe, Geary’s Pale Ale, was created using classic elements from British-style beer-making. Since then, D.L. Geary Brewing has gone on to become a regional favorite in the Northeast U.S. and its five award-winning ales and three seasonals are now distributed in fourteen states. The Geary Brewing Company is recognized as a pioneer in America’s brewing renaissance and as a model of quality and excellence for the industry.

While on your VocationVacation at D.L. Geary Brewing, one of the expert brew masters will mentor you in the following activities:
  • Loading barley and hops - grab the shovel!
  • Mixing the hops into the wort
  • Pitching yeast into the fermenter
  • Conducting lab work
  • Mashing!
  • Sparging!
  • Bottling!
  • TASTING the rewards of your hard day's labor
The Brew Master VocationVacations® holiday includes:
  • One day of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job as a brew master
  • The opportunity to participate in a total of one hour of pre- and post-VocationVacation career coaching from an accredited, affiliated VocationVacations career coach
  • A pocket-size VocationVacations journal so you can document your dream job becoming a reality
  • Light lunches with your mentor

Full payment of the VocationVacations dream job holiday is required to make a reservation. A $100 non-refundable fee is assessed if a VocationVacations experience is cancelled or rescheduled prior to 14-days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday, based on the approved availability of the mentor to reschedule. A VocationVacations adventure cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday. Written notification of cancellation or rescheduling is required in all cases. In the US, Grounded Nomads, LLC and VocationVacations holidays encourage all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling. In the UK, Grounded Nomads, Ltd and VocationVacations holidays must require all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling and provide verification of such travel insurance to Grounded Nomads, Ltd.
