Don and Joanna Harte were both corporate types who initially purchased a small B&B. But as their love for the business grew, they left their 9-to-5 lives, sold the small Inn and bought the New Hampshire Brass Heart Inn, a welcoming lodge which had been in business since the 1890s. Guests include past U.S. Presidents and Hollywood stars. You will enjoy taking some time to review the Inn's guest registers, which go back more than 100 years.
The Brass Heart Inn sits on 23 acres of rolling meadows at the base of Mt. Chocorua and offers one of the finest banquet facilities in Mount Washington Valley. You will learn how the Hartes run their highly successful business, offering beautifully decorated rooms and on-site cottages, as well as a lovingly restored 19th century barn for large events. Wedding planning and catering can also be part of your training. The Inn even helps couples secure marriage licenses and a justice of the peace!
During your Innkeeper VocationVacations® Holiday, Don and Joanna will mentor you in all or some of the following activities:
- Key priorities in choosing a successful location for your Inn
- Managing your property effectively
- Developing ancillary businesses for better profit margins
- Guest satisfaction – taking it to the next level
- Reservations and the power of data management
- Planning, preparing and serving meals
- Housekeeping and guest room excellence
- Wedding coordination and other event planning
- Cooking class with the chef
The Brass Heart Innkeeper VocationVacations® Holiday includes:
- Three days of one-on-one mentorship in your dream job
- The ability to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), an online personality assessment designed to identify interests and skill sets
- The opportunity to participate in a total of one hour of pre- and post-VocationVacation career coaching from an accredited, affiliated VocationVacations career coach
- A pocket-size VocationVacations journal so you can document your dream job becoming a reality
- Light breakfast/lunches with your mentor®

Full payment of the VocationVacations dream job holiday is required to make a reservation. A $100 non-refundable fee is assessed if a VocationVacations experience is cancelled or rescheduled prior to 14-days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday, based on the approved availability of the mentor to reschedule. A VocationVacations adventure cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday. Written notification of cancellation or rescheduling is required in all cases. In the US, Grounded Nomads, LLC and VocationVacations holidays encourage all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling. In the UK, Grounded Nomads, Ltd and VocationVacations holidays must require all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling and provide verification of such travel insurance to Grounded Nomads, Ltd. |
