Join Don and Joanna Harte, owners of The Brass Heart Inn, for an experience of a lifetime in the gorgeous mountains of New Hampshire. Don and Joanna are the consummate planners/caterers/facility owners of the quaint 100-year old Brass Heart Inn located near the beautiful town of Chocorua.
Their 100-year old Brass Heart Inn sits on 23 acres of rolling meadows at the base of Mt. Chocorua and offers one of the finest banquet facilities in Mount Washington Valley. Each year, Don and Joanna host numerous weddings at the inn. They are so skilled at their craft that they even conduct an annual “wedding workshop” for soon-to-be brides and grooms.
During your Wedding Coordinator VocationVacations® holiday at Brass Heart Inn, Don and Joanna will mentor you in all or some of the following activities:
- Day in the office with Joanna and Don
- Put together contracts, budgets and detailed wedding checklists for clients
- Understand the process of event day timelines, which list all pertinent information required for a flawless event
- See a sample Selected Vendor Referral List, learn about the dynamic between vendors and planners and how to maintain a successful relationship with partnering firms
- Understand the process of putting together and delivering welcome gift bags for guests of clients
- View samples of printing - Save the Dates and Invites, ceremony seating cards, etc.
- See how Mary keeps client files in order by organizing vendor info, correspondence, notes, etc.
- Rehearsal Day
- Meet and greet with the bridal party and their families
- Collect all wedding day items i.e. Guest book, toasting glasses, programs, place cards, etc.
- Organize the bridal party, music, ceremony details
- Wedding Day:
- Observe Don and Joanna’s direction of bridal party, family and guests as the day progresses
- Oversee setup of ceremony site i.e. Programs and guest book in place, name cards on chairs, special items for ceremony in place
- Understand the process of the day's setup and timing i.e. vendor arrivals, ceremony setup, reception completion
- Get an overall view of the behind-the-scenes action and how the Harte’s prioritizes where to be and when to be there
- Prepare the bride with her dress and veil
- Understand the importance of how to accommodate and ensure the comfort of each guest
- Greet guests as they enter, making sure they feel welcome and cared for
- Manage the photo guest book making sure pictures get taken, guests are signed in, etc.
- Organize the bridal party and maintains schedule integrity
- Assist in setup of reception site i.e. Placement of menus, place cards and favors, seating arrangements, etc.
- Guide guests to the reception area once ceremony has concluded
- Coordinate special dances and toasts – and manage the videographer and photographer in documenting these memories
- Secure and pack-up all extra items at the end of the night i.e. Extra favors, menus, programs, placecards, etc. and put gifts in the proper location
- Decorate bridal suite with candles, petals, bubble bath, cake, champagne, etc.
The Brass Heart Wedding Coordinator VocationVacations® Holiday includes:

- The ability to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), an online personality assessment designed to identify interests and skill sets
- The opportunity to participate in a total of one hour of pre- and post-VocationVacation career coaching from an accredited, affiliated VocationVacations career coach
- A pocket-size VocationVacations journal so you can document your dream job becoming a reality
- Light breakfast and lunch each day, plus one evening dinner

Reservation, Cancellation and Rescheduling Rules and Conditions:
Full payment of the VocationVacations dream job holiday is required to make a reservation. A $100 non-refundable fee is assessed if a VocationVacations experience is cancelled or rescheduled prior to 14-days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday, based on the approved availability of the mentor to reschedule. A VocationVacations adventure cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable if cancelled within 14 days of the scheduled VocationVacations holiday. Written notification of cancellation or rescheduling is required in all cases. In the US, Grounded Nomads, LLC and VocationVacations holidays encourage all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling. In the UK, Grounded Nomads, Ltd and VocationVacations holidays must require all customers to acquire travel insurance to cover any unforeseen expenses due to cancellation or rescheduling and provide verification of such travel insurance to Grounded Nomads, Ltd. |
